The parking was grey, the sky was blue You wanted to play, we made it true!

The transformation was successful! Azur Sport Santé couldn't find a better place for a flagship event than “the parking du Phare” at the port of Nice. An exceptional location that was well worth the effort of transforming it into physical activity friendly place for a weekend.

One of the priorities was to collaborate with local actors (associations, sport organizations, ...) and to promote urban activities which are both adapted to a practice on parking lots, and which need promotion and visibility.

Two-phase activities:

The dancers or "b-boys and girls" have captivated the attention of passers-by on the famous Promenade des Anglais by delivering an exceptional breakdance show and then by initiating them to the practice and teaching them figures on the parking lot.

The association Azur Skateboard also took part in the event by relocating its classes to the parking lot to show the feasibility and the relevance of our cause, and also to give the opportunity to all the interested people to participate and to learn the bases of the skateboard.

Street Workout, another urban sport practice was present during the main event. Accrobarz have equipped the parking lot with various metal structures with bars and made the practice of street workout possible. Several demos and initiation times were a success and generated an interest from the public.

The elderly population also had their share of the festivities. Several workshops were set up, Qi Gong, Yoga, Gym douce ... the list is not exhaustive, to learn more, check the photo gallery!

Innovation and sustainable development:

In addition to the “Jeu Bouge+” game developed by Azur Sport Santé, a swiss racket game concept was introduced during the event, the Street Racket. These two activities allow people to be active while having a fun and friendly time in any environment and it is adapted for all categories of the population, which was successfully demonstrated during the event.

Park(ing) Day for Fitness builds on the existing practices and guidelines provided by Rebar, where BG Be Active and the project consortium are adding an element of a multi-sport day event to offer activities that promote active lifestyles and engage the public.
